Sunday Brunch at Pelican Pointe, Venice, FL
Has anyone gone to the Sunday Brunch at the Pelican Pointe Golf and Country Club in the last
few months? I understand a new chef has taken over the food responsibilities. Thanks for any
information you can supply. messhall6869
We have not been to the Sunday Brunch, but did attend the Thanksgiving Buffet. It was very good. the new chef was there. He made his bread pudding with Whiskey sauce from his mother's recipe. It was outstanding. Turkey, Ham, Roast Beef all carved fresh. Every side you can think of. At least 10 different desserts. Lots of different salads. Everything was first class from the food, service, eye appeal of the buffet. I have not heard any negative feedback on the new chef as he was the sous chef there for the last head chef.
If the Thanksgiving buffet is any indication of their Sunday Brunch Buffet, it won't be disappointing. I know that the PPCC Sunday Brunch has continually been picked as the best Sunday brunch in Sarasota county.
I hope you enjoy it. I do suggest to make reservations being the high time down there.
I went to the brunch today. It was delicious. The menu consisted of different breakfast items as well as salads, Prime Rib, and Eggs Benedict. Coffee is included in the price of $14.95 a person.
I plan on going again. Service was good. Make reservations because the place can fill up fast. When Prime Rib is not on the carving board, another meat(ham, pork) or poultry(turkey) is offered. The desserts were varied and also delicious. All in all, a very good dining experience.

We made reservations in September. We also tried the Sunday Brunch for the first time. It was very good. Also, very reasonable for the quality of food and service. Eggs Benedict, fresh made Belgium Waffles and omelets. Nice variety of breakfast and lunch items.
This buffet sounds like a brunch we have here in tampa at the "Rusty Pelican." I think there are several locations around the state...Im not sure if there is one near Venice but it is a fabulous spread with all of the aforementionned item plus hot brunch entrees like eggs benedict made to order so that its at its peak when you eat it and not soggy like eggs benedict ive seen left out in a chafer..Also raw seafood bar, sushi, all the usual breakfast egg dishes plus omelet station...also a pasta station...The Rusty pelican here does serve Thanksgiving and Christmas buffets and reservations are a must...Normal buffet is 35.00 which includes champagne mimosas and bloodys,Holiday buffets are 45.00 and worth it...The view is spectacular...you are right on the water...Try it...its memorable.
