Sunday lunch near Paddington Station?

We will be in London in a couple of months and I'm trying to identify restos for a Sunday lunch within walking distance of Paddington Station. I'm an adventurous dinner, but the better half isn't, so a more traditional English or French place must take preference over the Indian/Thai spots. thanks!

I'd recommend going west to Westbourne Grove, it's just a 10-15 min walk from Paddington.
I have had a lot of ethnic food there and drunk in a lot of pubs, but I must admit to never having a more traditional Sunday lunch in that area. But there are some places that looks interesting, perhaps someone else on the forum has eaten there:
Bloody French for a more brunch style meal
    Le Cafe Anglais
    Cote restaurant

Or try the Waterway, on the other side of the canal. Lovely location and decent food.
The Bridge house is a good pub, never eaten anything beyond snacks there though. Same with Prince Alfred on Queensway and Prince Bonaparte on Chepstow rd.

Let me know if you managed to convince your partner about some more adventurous food - I have plenty of tips in the are for that!
