Can you recommen a good Bar/Restraunt Area within 20 minutes of Newark Airport

Hello! I am looking for a Bar/Restraunt Area that you can walk between multiple bars and Restraunts within 20 minutes of Newark Airport. Just a fun place to hang out and try something new. Any suggestions? Not NYC please.

Ironbound is your best bet. Some really great food can be had there (Seabras for example), many bars with local atmosphere. Importantly it is a safe area (the rest of Newark STAY AWAY!)

Elizabeth...no way, not many decent places and too dangerous for me

Hoboken has many bars...many, many bars close together...a younger "hip" crowd and quite safe

Try Valencia or The City Tavern in Elizabeth...both real close to the airport and fun most nights of the week. And good food.

Montclair is close by and has a good scene and only 15 mins away if that. Egan and Son's was voted Best Bar Scene in NJ recently by NJ Mag. Besides that there are plenty of restauarnts and a good old bar Tierneys great for a burger and watch a game. It gets a good crowd.

It should be noted that while Egan's and Tierney's are within walking distance, there's not much else in the way of bars in the area.

How about some place between Morristown and EWR? Does Short Hills or Summit have any life on a Tuesday night?

Not so much. Many restaurants are BYO, and most close at 9:00-9:30 on weeknights. There are four or five restaurants with a liquor license in downtown Summit that I can think of, so I think you'd be better off just staying in the Ironbound.

Ironbound is probably your best bet, but don't expect a hopping scene. It is more a working class Portuguese/Brazilian neighborhood with a lot of bars and restaurants serving large portions of not very gourmet food. But it can be delicious and fun if you pick the right spots.

Ferry Street in Newark (aka "The Ironbound") would be good too, especially if that twenty minutes had to be a train ride. During the day, Elizabeth would be a good mealtime idea too, but it doesn't have the same sort of appealing bar scene that Hoboken and The Ironbound do.

...and I agree...forget NYC, you won't make it to EWR in twenty minutes no matter how you travel.
