Taverna Nikos - Durham, NC

Does anyone know if Taverna Nikos in Brightleaf Square in Durham has closed? I read that the one in Morrisville has, and was wondering about the one here. Was one of my favorite places - haven't been in about a year though. Their Mountain Salad was fantastic.

Unfortunately I think it has. I was over there about a month ago and it didn't appear to be open. And looking at the Brightleaf Square directory (http://historicbrightleaf.com/directo...), it appears a place called Saffron will be going into that space. Don't know if it's related to the other Saffron restaurants in the area or not.

Question is would it be related to Saffron Chapel Hill or Saffron Morrisville. I believe I remember hearing something about the group of the Chapel Hill establishment opening that one in Durham. Similar size space.

Very pleased to see an Indian restaurant finally moving into downtown Durham-- and what a great one it is!
