Sweet/Flavored Hard Cider?

PacoD Jan 23, 2012 09:59 PM

So, lately my friends and I have been on this hard cider kick. We recently tried Angry Orchard Crisp Apple and Granny Smith Woodchuck Cider, which were both very good. I like those two because they are more sweet than brands like Strongbow and Magners. Anyone know of any other brands like Angry Orchard or Woodchuck Cider that carry sweet/flavored cider?

I am a fan of Crispin. There are several different varieties. I usually get the one with the red label that is a larger sized bottle. I would say that the sweetness level falls somewhere in-between Woodchuck and Strongbow.

Definitely Crispin. They have several flavors. The sweetest, if I recall, has a blue label. I like their sake flavor with gingery foods.

Cider, like beer (but unlike wine), has the required standard nutritional label on each bottle. Look for a higher sugar content, and you'll be able to identify ciders that are more to your taste. I prefer the dry ones, but there are many in the sweet style, especially from the U.S.

I usually am not fond of hard cider as it can be overpowering. But I found one which was very tasty, and not bitter, it is from the Portland cider company. It is the sorta sweet cider. I really enjoy it.
