Group dinner in Quirinale/Nazionale area of Rome: ideas?
Unfortunately that is a bit of a difficult time in Rome. Usually restaurants tend to close at some point in August, so you'd have to call up and find out if they will be open. But...they might not even know themselves!
Keeping that in mind, here are a few possibilities:
Pompiere: This restaurant is located in the Ghetto, and is very good. Traditional Roman food, with some Jewish specialties. Located on the primo piano (2nd floor) of Palazzo Cenci, the rooms are large and frescoed. A perfect choice for a big group.
Gigetto: Also located in the Ghetto, they are likely to be open and have a big back room that can accomodate your group. Again, they have traditional Roman dishes
Pierluigi: They are certainly open, and have a wonderful outdoor seating area in a pedestrian piazza. It's one of the only places that you can seat a group of 20 outside. The food is excellent, and specializes in fish (although they have everything)
All of these places are about a 20 minute walk from the Quirinale.
