I will be in BH this week. Any good country food or BBQ in that area. Thanks.

And what about crawfish. Is it too early.

I'd point you to Saw's a few miles south in Homewood. You'd need a car though.

I still think Jim N Nicks is pretty good and their collards are good. It's up in Five Points, not far from 20th and 8th. Teds is good for "country food". It's not too far from where you're talking about. Full Moon BBQ has its fans, walking distance from where you'll be. Try the Shindig truck if you can find it while you're here.

Thanks for the replies. I went to Saws. It was great. I will try the others before I leave. Thanks again.

Jim and Nicks has the best chain barbecue around IMHO. Make sure you try the habanero sauce along with the vinegar sauce (mixed).

I totally agree, Dax. I'm not sure why Jim N' Nicks doesn't get more love.

Mainly because its not that good. I've never had a decent meal there. For my money, Bham BBQ starts with Saws and ends at Moe's. Both are top notch, but chains like Jim n Nicks and the Golden Rule are crap IMO.

Don't hold back, jtboyd, tell us how you really feel! I guess this just underscores the harsh reality of subjectivity. I too put Saw's on top, but prefer Jim 'N' Nick's to Moe's.

I think the actual pulled pork at Jim N' Nicks is much better than at Moe's. Moe's PP is very stringy and has no bark while JnNs does plus a smokey taste.

Moe's is a small chain by the way jtboyd. I like it ok, but more for their smoked turkey and wings.

Saw's remains the best in town.

@Dax, Thanks to you I went to Moes and had the wings today. They were great. Plus, Bob Marley playing on the video FTW.
