cupcake (or something) near OMSI?

I'm planning a birthday party for my eight year old daughter.
I'm thinking to invite about 10 kids and see an opera (Hansel and Gretel) at Hampton Opera Center, near OMSI.
I am looking for a place to do the birthday party ritual (sing the song, blow the candle and eat cupcakes) before the show. My original plan was to use the cafe at OMSI, but it turned out that we can't just get in to the cafe without paying admission (which is understandable).
Does anyone know a kid friendly restaurant near OMSI which let us do the birthday party ritual on Saturday PM? If they have cupcakes, it would be perfect. Ice cream will do, too.

Sorry, I do not know the days/hours of operation of any of these places, just brainstorming for ya off the top of my head... I'd even suggest Acme Donuts on SE Powell, but I think they close around 3pm on the weekend...
