Private dining room - nice steak restaurant

Any suggestions for a steak restaurant with a private dining room for 12 people in L.A.? Ruth Chris is booked and Mastro's is really expensive.

If you want to go a more funky route, take the back room at Chey Jay in Venice. Not as good as Mastros and the other top steak houses, but casual, reasonable and a lot of fun.

I just thought of a place that might work -- Malbec in Pasadena.

No private room, but depending on the size of your party, maybe you can ask them to rope off or cordon off an area for you.

Fits your price range. And it's "nice".

Nice and inexpensive really don't go hand-in-hand when talking about steakhouses, esp. when your $ point of reference is "Mastro's is really expensive".

Agree with ipse... Have you tried contacting Fleming's (at L.A. Live) or Nick & Stef's? They're both in Downtown LA.

Taylors has a private room downstairs that fits your needs perfectly. I like it and it is not as pricey as others mentioned. I was just at Capital Grille at Beverly Center last week, we had a nice private room, but it was very pricey.

Morton's steakhouse also has a private dining area.

Man, this is tough. You are sort of threading a needle in terms of price points. Many things come to mind that don't work.

Lawry's is one note (though that can be a nice prime rib note) and Pacific Dining Car probably doesn't deliver the quality for almost the same price. BLT is not a bad suggestion but you can spend just as much there as at Matro's. STK doesn't have a private room that I know of. Cut is out of the question.

So since I am not sure what your wine/app/sides/cuts of meat/cocktails ordering might be. I can just throw a couple more out there to check out.

BLT on Sunset in West Hollywood has a beautiful private room. (And, competing with Boa down the street I'm sure they could use the business.)
