Chinese New Year: are restaurants open?

I know this may seem like a dumb question, but I want to check out a couple of the restaurants I've been reading about here recently (He Nan Flavor, Chang Wong, Overseas), and I've had bad luck with places being closed for CNY in the past. Should I just wait it out? Have a duck lunch at Momofuku Ssam instead?

Yes good to give them a call - Henan Flavor was closed today for example.

Agreed. Was disappointed by the Henan's closure as I wanted to have lunch there after the fireworks. I then headed over to Prosperity Dumpling for a snack and found it closed as well. But there were still plenty of restaurants open as I walked around C-town.

Not only open but most will be celebrating with special menu items. No firecrackers at the tables please!!

They should be open. Chinese New Year is big business for Chinese restaurants.

If you have the restaurants' phone number, can't hurt to give them a call as well to make sure.
