About to start at a new job near Warner Bros. in Burbank and I am looking for some new lunch spots.. Not that I am tired of the food, but Chili John's isn't always practical and Poquito Mas is great but not every day.

Thanks!

Frontier Wok, only the location on Hollywood Way, they have two others and the food is not the same. Try the szechuan green beans and orange chicken which is more like sweet and pungent. Also eat in, the dishes don't hold up to go....

Not that Burbank has any quality chinese food options, but Frontier Wok on Hwd. Way is not any better than the Panda Express on Alameda at Pass, which is probably all you need to know.

Well that's why we call this a Forum. I beg to differ, I've been going to that location for years and every person I've turned onto the place has enjoyed the food. I wouldn't compare it to Panda.

I wouldn't call it Panda either, for that matter. It's not served from steam trays, it IS woked fresh, which makes it better. (I actually don't mind Frontier Wok. It's not even close to SGV-quality Chinese food, but it's also about an hour closer to home on a weeknight.)

Great option, except the parking in that area is truly miserable, even with the lot to the rear. Go with several friends, with one parking the car while the others are standing in a quite long line. And if the driver cannot come in in time, have someone else order for him/her and get the orders to go.

There's a greasy spoon coffee shop called Tallyrand (1700 W. Olive, (818) 846-9904) down Olive a couple of miles. Decent breakfast fare, and the usual coffee shop sort of stuff, but their chicken club sandwiches are genuinely excellent. As odd as it sounds, it tastes like they brine the chicken breasts, because the sliced breast meat is always really moist and flavorful. I get this sandwich on toasted wheat with avocado, and fries instead of fruit salad and carrot cake. It's strange, I know, but it's one of my top ten sandwiches in the city.

More expensive than those already mentioned, yet worthy of a periodic visit is the Bistro Provence in the Vons shopping center on Pass just north of the 134 Fwy. Is located at the north end adjacent to the Starbux. Menu and info below.
Mo's for hamburgers and salads on Riverside, just across the side street from Bob's Big Boy.
Prosecco for Italian further west on Riverside on the south side of the street.

You might want to try Nature's Pantry (on Riverside near the WB lot). There is also Buchanan Arms (English pub grub) on Burbank Blvd. Pinocchio's (Monte Carlo), a pretty descent Italian deli. Zankou Chicken just opened up near the Media Center. Sushi Dake on Olive. For a cheap burger there is Champ's on Burbank Blvd, just west of Smart N' Final.

Why not try Studio Cafe Magazzino -- its a soup/sandwich/salad place right on Pass Ave., across from the Warner Bros. Triangle Building. The thing to definitely get is the soup, but everything is really fresh and tasty!
