Probably Capital Grill, but go north 20 minutes to Abe and Louie's in Boca.

Bourbon Steak, Turnberry Isle Hotel & Resort
19999 West Country Club Drive, Miami, FL 33180

Are you getting the drift? Ain't nothing in Lauderdale that's memorable. Several close by, though!

The demographics of the board obviously do not necessarily reflect the standards of the restaurants in different areas. I agree FLL does not have the same number of quality restaurants as Miami, or even Delray, but the poster asked for a recommendation for FLL and there are definitely good options.

Grille 66 for somewhere refined and/or romantic and Steak 954 for somewhere more 'hip' are both good options.

But 'refined,' 'romantic,' and 'hip' are not the OPs requests.

I'm not trying to be difficult. I just find it interesting the request for best restaurant for steak and seafood in Fort Lauderdale seems to garner such a paucity of appropriate responses!

Like I said, the demographics of this board do not directly reflect the quality or restaurants in any given area. The lack of recommendations for Fort Lauderdale could be a direct result of a lack of posters from the area. This board is definitely skewed to the Miami dining scene - quite rightly, as that is a more dynamic dining scene, but it doesn't mean Fort Lauderdale doesn't have good options.

And I never said the OP requested refined, hip or romantic. I was saying that either restaurant would be a good option and was explaining the different appeal of both. What the OP did ask was for a restaurant in Fort Lauderdale.

I would go to Grill 66 at the Hyatt. Great steak and seafood, stunning setting on the intra coastal.

I have had two excellent dinners at 954 Steak in the W Hotel. For the second dinner, there were 7 people and everybody raved about everything --- including both steaks and fish. The truffle potatoes au gratin were unreal and different from typical steakhouse fare.

We found it extremely mediocre and steaks were so overcooked (twice) that they comped our meal!
