Drinks aside, what would a dinner cost at Per Se?

forgetaboutit, try Del Posto, or LL Madison Park instead, you'll do better.

Del Posto is nowhere near the level of Per Se. Per Se is one of the top 2 or 3 fine dining restaurants in the United States, Del Posto is not one of the top 2 or 3 fine dining in the city.

EMP is a wonderful place, truly a gem, but if you ask the staff there where the best restaurant in the city is, many (most?) of them will say Per Se.

I agree - though the margin is slim between EMP and Per Se.

Will be doing both again in just over a month and cannot wait.

Wouldn't return to Del Posto unless someone else was paying - and even then I'd consider spending my own money to go back to Lincoln, Babbo, Ai Fiori, or Scarpetta instead.

Oh yes, I very much agree (with your whole post). I wanted to go back and edit mine to make clear that I wasn't implying that Per Se was head and shoulders above EMP, just that the people at EMP have strong admiration for Per Se, but it was too late.
