Linda Bean's on Atlantic Ave. in Delray has closed. No surprise there.

I think this is a false alarm. I do not think Linda Bean's has closed.

I believe they closed for a brief remodeling (yeah, I know what that usually means) over the past 4 days or so.

Unfortunately, the remodelling and painting company put signs out front that resembled Real Estate for sale signs. But when I walked by a few times this weekend, it simply looked like they were just actually redoing the interior.

I could be wrong... but I'd wait for some sort of official news before I call this a done deal.

Yep: read interview with the owner here. She notes Hamburger Heaven and Reef Road Rum Bar closed, too. http://www.jannorris.com/eat-beat/eat...

It sounds like The Falcon House in Delray has turned off the lights.

Crazy. Wasn't exactly my favorite hangout. Though it seemed fairly popular and has been around forever. It's a tough business.

RIP Spoon Fed - on the Ave in Delray (I would have to assume)...

"For Sale or Lease" signs on all the windows as of this past weekend.

McCray's BBQ Mangonia Park 45th St. location is closing for good on Sunday. They have not met the demands by the city to build a restaurant that complies to it's ordinance. It was basically a trailer on a lot.

However, they have a location in the very old Sub King in Riviera Beach on US-1

I've been seeing this on the news. This morning it was revealed they owe the city of Riviera Beach $400,000 in fines. The fines were assessed on the new building, not sure what the problem is. Not a good way to begin with a new location. I have eaten at McCray's several times and like it so I hope they get the new building up and running soon.

"Neighborhoods" Sports Bar (or whatever it was) on US1 in north Boca has changed names. I don't recall the new name but I saw a new sign over the weekend.

I always thought it was an awful name. And the one time I went in there, the name wasn't the only thing awful.

I think it's called Player's Sports Bar now.

Yup, Player's Sports Bar. And just in time for football season, they have a banner out announcing they are a home for NY Jets fans. Might be a great place to enjoy a Jets game with similarly minded fans.

Thanks Eatster. And, as chance would have it, I am a rabid NY Jets fan. I stopped in yesterday and indeed the owner of Player's is a big Jets fan and they've got all sorts of activities planned for the coming season.

Players is shutting it's doors effective this weekend (per their FB page).

I am not surprised. It is a big building and big lot. And too many times I've driven past and seen just a small handful of cars.

This location seems more like it needs to be a Bru's or Duffy's type place - already established with a existing base.

(Of course, there's already a very nearby Duffy's, just using as example).

That motel location is a guaranteed resto killer. I didn't even get a chance to try it.

It was quite good. But locale is as you say: certain death.

McCormick & Schmick's in City Place has gone bye bye. Add to that Chef John's in Jupiter.

Carlos 'n Charlies in City Place has closed their doors. I don't think it has even been one year since they opened. CnC...we hardly even knew you!

For the second time, I've driven by and they are dark, so I assume closed.

Mona Lisa Pizza on A1A in Deerfield.

Too bad as they supposedly had good pie... but I never made it there while open.

Not too surprising after reading the reviews on here. I wondered how such a place could survive.
