Linda Bean's on Atlantic Ave. in Delray has closed. No surprise there.

I think this is a false alarm. I do not think Linda Bean's has closed.

I believe they closed for a brief remodeling (yeah, I know what that usually means) over the past 4 days or so.

Unfortunately, the remodelling and painting company put signs out front that resembled Real Estate for sale signs. But when I walked by a few times this weekend, it simply looked like they were just actually redoing the interior.

I could be wrong... but I'd wait for some sort of official news before I call this a done deal.

McCray's BBQ Mangonia Park 45th St. location is closing for good on Sunday. They have not met the demands by the city to build a restaurant that complies to it's ordinance. It was basically a trailer on a lot.

However, they have a location in the very old Sub King in Riviera Beach on US-1

I've been seeing this on the news. This morning it was revealed they owe the city of Riviera Beach $400,000 in fines. The fines were assessed on the new building, not sure what the problem is. Not a good way to begin with a new location. I have eaten at McCray's several times and like it so I hope they get the new building up and running soon.

"Neighborhoods" Sports Bar (or whatever it was) on US1 in north Boca has changed names. I don't recall the new name but I saw a new sign over the weekend.

I always thought it was an awful name. And the one time I went in there, the name wasn't the only thing awful.

Yup, Player's Sports Bar. And just in time for football season, they have a banner out announcing they are a home for NY Jets fans. Might be a great place to enjoy a Jets game with similarly minded fans.

Thanks Eatster. And, as chance would have it, I am a rabid NY Jets fan. I stopped in yesterday and indeed the owner of Player's is a big Jets fan and they've got all sorts of activities planned for the coming season.

Players is shutting it's doors effective this weekend (per their FB page).

I am not surprised. It is a big building and big lot. And too many times I've driven past and seen just a small handful of cars.

This location seems more like it needs to be a Bru's or Duffy's type place - already established with a existing base.

(Of course, there's already a very nearby Duffy's, just using as example).
