Dessert and Coffee for a Large Party after Theater

So here's my dilemma:

I'm looking for a good--not touristy and not Juniors--place to take my ridiculously large family (11 people) after a Saturday evening play for coffee and desserts. We want to stay in the theater district close to 49th and 8th as one member of our group is older and not exactly up for a hike, but we are NOT very big on the Time Square atmosphere. Plus... my father is a bit of a snob when it comes to restaurants so I'm afraid to take him anywhere too... non-local. If that makes sense.

Obviously with such a large crowd, I'd like to make reservations. And while I'm relatively familiar with the area, I'm at a loss of where to take all these people. Any help would be SO appreciated. Really. ANY. HELP. AT ALL.
