Looking for a great restaurant for a small party

Hi I'm having a small party for my daughters Communion in May and I'm looking for a great restaurant. We are thinking about $20-25 pp and looking for italian/french/american cuisine, something along those lines. My in laws are italian and not very adventurous so nothing indian/chinese/japanese, to my dismay. Can anyone recomment a place??

  1. You should include the area in the state which you would like to have this event staged at.

    1. Oops, sorry! I live in Western Morris County, so we are looking for something in Morris/Sussex counties. I think Bergen would be too far for everyone to drive, but if it is an amazing place, please recommend it anyway!

I've heard good things about Cinders in Mine Hill. Their lunch menu seems reasonable.

I have not been, but my friends in the restaurant business like this place for Italian in Totowa. i believe it is also a BYOB which could keep your costs down.

      2. Back in October, we had a 90th birthday party for my mother at Garlic Rose in Cranford (they have a branch in Madison also). We had about 25 people, the room was downstairs and very nicely appointed, and had its own bar. Menu options were extensive, food was excellent, and the price per person was less than any of the other restaurants in the area that we looked at. They were really great to deal with--they even let us bring in our own birthday cake. Highly recommended.
