Did you ever find one? I'm looking, too. Thanks.

I decided to just order online because they ship all year round. And it's not a bad price. I'll be ordering one soon so I'll keep you posted if its worth it. But we did find a French king cake seller in grand central station but I was looking for the new Orleans style one. But not sure if they still have any.

Thanks! I wanted to tell you...I just learned that BLUE SMOKE is making them! They start taking orders on 2/15.

online, order form either Haydel's Bakery or Rouses. I'm from NOLA, and they are the best of the online king cakes.

Thanks! Looking for the NOLA version, though. :) Tell me about the EB one!

the january one was very flaky with an almond paste filling. apparently the march one will be more like mardi gras style.

Have you checked online to see about having one shipped? I order and ship all the time. They always arrive fresh. Avg price tho is about $35 w/shipping.

I've lived in Nola for 12 years and my hands-down favorite is Randazzo's Camellia City. They are a little pricier to ship, though.
