Lunch near St. Francis Hotel, Union Square

We are staying at the St.Francis Hotel near Union Square tthis weekend. We are going to meet a cousin for lunch on Saturday. Any recommendations within walking distance?

What kind of food do you want? What price? What is walking distance to you?

There is just such a BIG choice in that area, from the Tenderloin Indian/.Pakistani joints and other cuisines to upscale ladies who lunch places like The Rodunda or Capmton Place or French on Beldon, to old-time Seafood like Sam's to Chinatown, etc, etc etc.

We would like something nice. New American, French or seafood.

You can walk by all of those places pretty easily and quickly if you're staying in USq. Otherwise, try the search function.

Union Square is reasonably close to the French district. Choices include Café Claude, La Central, Plouf, Café de la Presse. I like the Catalan restaurant in Belden Place (B44).

For French, I prefer Cafe Claude to Café Bastille. http://www.cafeclaude.com

B44's not open for lunch on the weekend.
