BK onion rings - new recipe
I'm sitting here munching on some onion rings from Burger King and am surprised that they have revised their recipe. I think they are much better now. The batter is lighter and not thick with cornmeal as before (which made them gritty IMO). The ambigulous onion filling has a much more pungent onion powder flavor and is less sweet. The pack even has two different sizes onion rings as opposed to the all identical ones before. It gives the impression of a more naturally formed product - keyword being "impression". I am enjoying them as they are my a deep fried guilty pleasure for me.
Has anyone else tried them?

Damn, that's terrible news.
Where am I going to get my fake onion ring fix now? And I mean that with all sincerity.

re: GK in SO
I've had Fatburger's rings a few times, and each time (I don't know how they do this) the onion seems to be almost flavorless. Good batter and all that, but barely any onion flavor. YMMV.
Not a fan of beer batters in general. What I really like is a thin, crispy cornmeal batter. It's fine if they fall apart.
