Need suggestions for food stops between New Orleans and Baton Rouge

We have no schedule so we can take our time getting to Baton Rouge, but have no idea where to eat or stock up on local goodies. We are game for about anything from white tablecloth to no tablecloth as long as the food is good.

Middendorf's is outstanding. They just added a new outside deck and their seafood menu is outstanding. Frenier's Landing at Laplace is nice too and it's just off I 10 at Exit 209. Go N on old # 51 a mile to Peavine Road and take a right. Go about half a mile to FL on Lake Pontchartrain.
