Creme fraiche vs creme cheese

I do an easy appetizer by putting a dollop of creme fraiche on a fancy potato chip and then topping that with smoked salmon and a piece of dill. I have some leftover creme cheese I want to sub for the creme fraiche. I thought I'd thin the creme cheese a smidge. Should I use sour creme or Greek yogurt, both of which I have? Thanks!

    My instincts would lean towards the sour cream, but both would do fine, if the yogurt is tangy enough. Maybe a couple drops of lemon juice would help a bit.

      Definitely go with the sour cream. For one thing, it tastes much more like creme fraiche. Also, if you are trying to thin the cream cheese, sour cream will be much more effective than Greek yogurt, which by definition is thick.
