Visiting Seoul in February - anyone up for a chowhound night?

Tokyo-based chowhound here. I will be in Seoul with work 16-18 February and will probably remain in Seoul until Sunday (after the work bit ends on Saturday morning). If any other chowhound(s) happen to be around and are up for a foodie night out, please let me know. I'd love to explore the culinary side of the city.

I have been to Korea a few times before (Seoul and Busan) and had a great time (even though makkoli definitely got the better of me). I spent a lot of time in particular in Busan eating my way through the Jagalchi fish market area, and in Seoul enjoyed ungodly amounts of barbecued meat and course upon course of delicious Korean royal cuisine. It would be great to have a few bites with some other food lovers.

I'm not sure whether there are any other Chowhounders who actually live here bar me?

Anyway would be happy to (as we obviously share similar tastes given your distaste for Bo Innovation) but I think I may be hiking in Jeju. If not I'll drop you a PM or reply to this....

Hiking in jeju? Excellent - I really like the island. But won;'t it be a bit cold in February? Anyway, if you do happen to be around in Seoul it would be great to have some food, otherwise have a great time in Jeju.

        Hey there,

You can add me to the list of people who arent big fans of Bo Innovation :)

Anyway, I may be in Seoul that weekend - if so, would love to meet up if you guys will have me. Non-local, but i'll try anything.

As for hiking in Jeju, i just finished hiking in Jeju last week, and it definitely is cold. But it was beautiful!

        Just let me obligations.

That sounds good! Let us definitely meet up and eat something. Hopefully TomEatsHK can make it as well.

            K. I have to head off to Taiwan, but i'll let you know as soon as i know when i'll be in Seoul. Hopefully it'll coincide with the 12th!

Asomaniac... sorry, but it's not looking like i can make it there on the 18th. Will still try and move things around, but it isnt promising. Just wanted to give you a heads up in case you wanted to change or reschedule some aspect of your trip.

Will post here if anything changes.

Hi, I just moved to Seoul after three decades in u.s. (I am Korean American) and it would be great to check out some restaurants with chowhounds. I will be around on 18th.

yen - thank you very much for letting me know; do let us know if anything changes.

arlingtonstomache - great! I should still be able to make it on the 18th.

        2. Folks, just a quick request that in keeping with our Etiquette for Chowdowns and other Gatherings ( ), someone provide an email address (use a throw away web address if you're worried about spam on your regular account) so the planning for this meetup can happen offline.

Chowteam - understood. Tried to send a personal message to arlingtonstomache but don't seem to be able to do it through his profile (might be my computer illiteracy though).

My email address is - arlingtonstomache (and anyone else who might be in Seoul this weekend), please e-mail me re: the chowmeet.
