Filipino in Portland

My boyfriend is Filipino and he is used to homemade mom's cooking. He hasn't been to any of the Filipino restaurants in Portland and I want to take him to one soon. But because I don't know much about Filipino food and how to tell where is a good place, I need some suggestions...I have heard there are a couple of places to go, but where is the best, most traditional? HELP.

Tambayan is the only Filipino place I know of in town. It is where the local FIlipino group meets too. I really love the fried pork belly cubes (lechon kawali) and the garlic rice is amazing. The stew made with peanuts/peanut butter is also really good. The pancit is pretty good.

Also, they make some of the best flan I have ever had...

Kula Kart is new and really good. "Traditional" is in the palate of the beholder, so I'll be silent on that aspect.
