Crawfish...........

I saw Big Fisherman advertise crawfish yesterday. Don't know how consistent they are this time of year, though.

Cooter Browns, Frankie and Johnnies both are saying they have them, not sure if it is on a daily basis or not.

Picked up 3# from Big Fisherman on Saturday...small, delicious and expensive...almost $6 a pound, but worth every penny. They also had wonderful crabs. Vendor was delivering
freshly made crawfish pies...they were fabulous.

I'm going to NOLA this weekend and would LOVE to go to Big Fisherman. However, it is my understanding that it's a market and therefore nowhere to sit. Where would I be able to take my crawfish if I were to go?

You used to be able to take them across the street tot the Bulldog, but when I was there a few weeks ago there was a sign saying no outside food, including crawfish. Likely a health code issue. I don't know of another nearby spot.

Probably more of an issue with the Bulldog kitchen, people were probably abusing it and the kitchen sales were down.

We ended up calling the pizza place, Reginelli's, and they said that we could eat the crawfish on their patio as long as we bought drinks (perfectly fine by us). It ended up being too windy so we took the crawfish back to the hotel anyway. It was DELICIOUS!!! And only $4.29/lb.

So I would suggest giving Reginelli's a call if you need somewhere to eat your Big Fisherman goods. :)
