The Stockade Inn (Schenectady) - anyone been recently?

Has anyone been to The Stockade Inn recently?

Cella Bistro, More Perreca's or Appian Way are our usual choices when we're in Schenectady. The Stockade Inn keeps coming up in conversation. Are we missing something?

    Web site just mentions 80 bottles . . .


    1. We went recently. We sat in the main dining room. The decor was elegant and sophisticated. There was live music in the lounge which could be heard in the dining room. Service was excellent. Wine list was limited, many reasonably priced bottles. Now on to the food.


      Local cheese plate with warm olives. Local Hudson Valley cheeses, eggplant caviar, and grilled crostini. This was more than enough for two. I don't remember all the cheeses. There were 4-5. A blue, a camembert, etc. The most memorable was the cheese with lavender. It was delicious. I liked it better than SO. The cheese plate was a highlight of our meal.

      Chopped wedge salad. Iceberg with warm Maytag blue cheese, chopped tomatoes, etc. We appreciate that the chef accomodated our no bacon request. SO didn't care for it being warm. It was good.


      ? with a parmesan crust, broccoli rabe (or broccolini?) and ?

      SO had the scallops with risotto. I tasted them and they were very good.

      Fish was cooked perfectly. I liked SO's better than mine.


      SO had the coconut cream pie. Enormous and delicious.

      I had the bread pudding. Probably wouldn't get it again.


      Nice lounge/bar. The lounge menu also looks appealing. We will definitely go back.
