Bibou Chef's Counter

Hi All,

Just wondering if anyone who has been to Bibou's Chef Counter can share any thoughts of the experience. I know it is 7 courses, but was wondering how long it takes/how special it actually is compared to the meal's the rest of the dining room recieves, and anything else worth noting. Thanks!!!

Thanks for the info. Opentable was booked solid for the night, but when I called and specifically requested the tasting, Charlotte explained the seven courser and told me we would be at the bar. I didn't know it was also available to the entire room. Either way, sounds like a good way to experience the food and I am looking forward to it.

Let us know how it goes. I think Bibou is now my favorite restaurant in the city.

As far as I know there is no "chef's counter", there's the two-seat bar but you can sit there no matter what you intend to order, and you can order the 7-course menu if you're sitting at a table. I've sat at the bar a few times and got the 7-course menu once and ordered off the regular menu the other times. The 7-course menu was mostly smaller portions of what was available on the menu that night with (if I remember correctly) one course that was not on the menu. I haven't gotten it since because as long as you're with someone else and you're comfortable sharing, you can create your own multi-course dinner just by ordering what you want off the menu and sharing.

It's fun to sit there and watch the activity in the kitchen but I will say that the bar is not terribly comfortable to sit at.
