Late Night Good Eats
Sitting here at approx 11:15pm, and unfortunately most of the foods that I'm craving are already closed.
I thought that I should make a list of places to eat with GOOD food in the GTA (doesn't have to be stellar, but I also don't want someone to suggest McD's drive-through or Pizza Pizza just because they're open) that are still open past 11 or 11:30pm (and preferably put down the closing time too, if known)
It can be take-out only, or sit-down. It can be greasy spoon type places or even "finer" dining establishments.
Any ethnicity.
We're always up for a drive so anywhere in the GTA-ish area :)

7 West is decent and reliable - especially for something open 24 hours. The veggie chili and the pastas are all OK.
Sneaky Disease is fine for nachos or huevos rancheros at about 5:00 AM, when you will eat anything greasy and salty.
Agree about Swatow - I thought they close at 2:00 AM.
A number of Greek restaurants are open late. Omonia is pretty good and open until 2:00 on Fridays and Saturdays.

Swatow for shrimp dumpling soup is my late night go to... can't speak for any other items on the menu but on weekends I think it is open until 4 am. but after the bars close the place is swamped and weekdays it is open late too, I think until 2 am.
I have not been in a long time but I seem to remember T-Bones Sizzling Steaks & Burgers in Scarborough is open 24/7.
Have always read about 7 West on Charles being open 24/7 but have never been.
I had this dilemma on Saturday, and sadly, went to KO Burger on Bloor west of Spadina, they might be open until 2 am, but I would rather have had McDonalds... that was one dry tasteless burger!
Thanks Yongeman for the jerk chicken idea... must try that next time I want real late night eats!

Great thread. The jerk chicken places on Eglinton W. come alive after dark. You can see them outside on the sidewalk with their covered grills cooking up their jerk chicken and pork. This article says they grill until 5 or 6 am, but not sure about sub-zero winter nights. I think you usually get peas and rice and cole slaw with the order. http://torontoist.com/2011/12/spice-c...

If I want soup after midnight, I go to Zorba's. If I want Greek fries, I go to Messini Gyros. Alexandro's is also open after the bars let out. All 3 are usually open until 3 am or later on Friday and Saturday nights. Not sure how late they are open Mon-Thu, but I've eaten at Zorba's around 11 pm on some weeknights.
I've also ordered food at Rails & Ales around midnight. Rails & Ales closes at 2 am.

My favorite right now County General, kitchen open until 2am on Thursdays to Saturdays.
Then there's 416 Snack Bar, open until 2 as well. They offer only small smack size portions but they're pretty well, busy on weekends, it's a bar after all.
The diner Thompson hotel is 24 hours, although I have never been.
After all that, there's always Chinatown and 7 West Cafe, but those are usually my fallbacks.
