Pork Belly Montreal
Hi everyone. I have an intense craving and hope someone can help me out!
My wife and I went to Hawaii in September and we went on a food tour in Oahu. We toured some parts of the city and spent a nice amount of time in the China Town district. One life changing food that we tried was called 5 layers of heaven (roasted pork belly with crispy skin cut into bite sized pieces) from Char Siu House in China Town. I later had another mind-blowing pork belly dish at Roy's on Big Island. I'm looking for anything equivalent (or near equivalent) in Montreal. I've tried a pork belly dish in a Phillipino restaurant which didn't come close to comparison and I also tried a dish with pork belly in it at Au Pied Cochon which was delicious but not quite the same. I have a feeling some restaurants in China Town might come close, but I wouldn't know where to look. Has anyone experienced a mind-blowing pork belly dish in Montreal that they could share? I feel lost without it :p
Thanks!

I don't think many restaurants showcase roast pork, or roast pork belly
(is it sui yuk?: http://www.gastronomydomine.com/uploaded_images/pork-798644.JPG
)but it certainly can be had in Chinatown.
Alas, favorite BBQ joint Sun Sing Lung closed this past summer, you can pick up roast pork at
A. Lam Kee
1065 St-Laurent
Ruby Rouge has roast pork during their dim sum.FWIW and FTLOPB (for the love of pork belly) you might want to try Derek Dammann’s Roast Pork Belly with Onions from The Gazette awhile back.

Admittedly off-topic and not Chinese style as you're looking for, but it is utterly delicious. -
