Eating near Costco, Brooklyn
We will be making a trip to Costco in Brooklyn tomorrow, which may include a stop at Fairway as well.
Any ideas as to where we can catch a quick bite (other than at Fairway's Cafe, although that is a possibility).
Thanks for any suggestions, especially near Costco.
Thanks

re: jeeg
defonte's is awesome, but no place to sit inside, really, so factor that in. would choose defonte's, ba xuyen, yunnan flavor snack, or dim sum (pacificana or east harbor) or 5th ave mexican (try the choirzo and egg torta at la flor bakery on 41st and 5th) over fairway cafe or ikea. however, if you don't get down to the harbor much, those both have pretty good views. i personally prefer the ikea. somehow my food from the fairway cafe never tastes good, and the seating area doesn't have as good views.

Hi bxgirl,
Save both time and money. Mooch the free samples AT Costco!!
But seriously, if you go down to Fairway in Red Hook check out Hope & Anchor on Van Brunt Street. It's a decent casual place—kinda dinery but pretty good.
Alternatively, you could go to Baked and get a pre-made sandwich followed by a whoopie pie and coffee.
And by the water there's always Steve's Authentic Key Lime Pies for a swingle although their retail counter is really just that. This is more just a place where they make stuff—not sell it.
And you could always go to IKEA and eat in their cafeteria. The food's nothing to rave about but it's quick, pretty cheap and you have a view of the Statue of Liberty if you sit by the windows.
Hope this helps you out!
Ciao,
Glendale is hungry...

re: Glendale is hungry
Steve's took a hit from Sandy and will be moving in April to a new, larger space one pier over. Maybe there'll be room to sit down with a slice of pie, though it sounds as if they'll use the extra room mostly to expand the wholesale business.
