Girls Night Out - 4 girls out for a 35th Bday

Where should we go?

I'm thinking we should start with a nice dinner with a good bar scene as the bday girl is single! I immediately thought of STK (either location) but resey's are only available at like 6:15, too early. But something like that. The birthday girl is also kind of picky food wise, so nothing too ethnic will really work. Italian, Steak, American are all good. Preferably in a neighbhorhood where there are some cool places for 30-somethings to get drinks afterwards (i.e., please don't direct us to the Upper East Side).

Buddakan has a very happening bar, I know you said nothing ethnic, but i'm sure there is some stuff on the menu your friend would like. You can then go across the street to the roof at the Gaansvoort Hotel Bar and have more fun. If that's too ethnic, just go to Pastis and then go check out the many bar scenes in the meat market area.

Minetta reservation isn't until 10:30, which is sorta past my bedtime, but I'll check with her. Does Scarpetta have a bar scene at all? I went there for my bday and LOVED it. I'll look into Locanda.

I don't know about Scarpetta's bar scene or lack of it, but it's in the Meat Packing District, so an early dinner there and then a short walk to a bar might work out well, if you're willing to be flexible.
