Need top notch Italian where I can get a great steak?

I have an important business dinner coming up and the senior person we are hosting, when asked, said that italian is his favorite with steakhouse as a second (they are from Asia). Any thoughts as to a good italian where you can order a tremendous steak? I have had a phenomenal steak at Babbo once and may try to get involved there again.

The steak at Babbo is fantastic, I'd probably stick with that - or Manzo, Batali's new place in Eataly with a beef-centric theme. He could go beef crazy there, including the (same, I think) Porterhouse they do at Babbo.

While I liked the food we've had at Manzo a lot, I wouldn't take an important business client there. Walking through a congested food hall to get to it could seem tacky.

Yep, I'd second that. And while I like both Marea and Locanda Verde, the noise level there might inhibit conversations - unless you're intentionally looking for an "energetic", entertaining environment and not a "business" dinner. I'd probably stick with Babbo myself.

I have purposely avoided going to Locanda Verde because I've heard that the noise level is hideously high. I didn't find the noise level at Marea objectionable; however, after two dinners there, it's doubtful we'll be retuning for other reasons.

Probably wouldn't do Locande just because it is too far downtown logistically. Any thoughts on Maialino?

I think Maialino would work. The tables are nicely spaced apart and while it's somewhat rustic it has a sophisticated vibe perfect for a business dinner.
