Anyone done Full Kee (Richmond) lately? or even not-so lately?
I have only ever gotten takeout, and that was precious little and about 5 years ago.
I see they don't have a website and i am dubious on whether the menu on Allmenus is indeed the right one.
I am interested possibly in doing the dim sum, does anyone know if they do it both Saturday and Sunday, and the starting times? During dim sum, can you also order off the menus?
I am also interested in their roast pork and roast duck. I have heard they sell that by the pound but cant really find any info on it, so anyone who knows I would appreciate knowing for future reference.
Well now I have done it. First I can say that from what I have seen, the menu on the website for the DC Full Kee is about the same as the one in Richmond.
I can also say the roasted duck was an amazing experience. Far above the duck I have gotten at other Chinese restaurants over the year. In fact, I would go so far as to wonder whether they should be allowed to be called the same thing :)
My wife said it was the best Chinese food she had ever eaten. For me it is close, since I have been to Chinatown in NY before, but that was decades ago.
Heck, they scored points just with the hot tea setup. So few places seem to do that in Richmond, its been years since I have had it. Maybe at a Vietnamese place.. perhaps Da Lat?,,,
Did not try the Dim Sum yet, but very satisfied. The parking lot was even less inviting than last time and my wife was dubious at first, but its all about the FOOD. Given the specials board was not in English, I had confidence walking in.
Yeah, I was a little concerned because I had not heard anything recent about this place. The parking lot was actually scarier than last time with more weeds. Thats ok though, the focus is on the food :)
Also I should note that our waiter was very helpful and friendly. I have talked to some who had problems in the past.
I made a scan of the takeout menu and may post that at some point
