London - Lupita Mexican

Lupita is all about location, location, location - a small cramped Mexican restaurant located off the Strand, right next to Charing Cross station.

What I tried this evening:

- Guancamolito - surprisingly bland guacamole dip - could use a bit more lime & onions;

- Carnitas taco - loved the meat filling, but seasoning seemed to lack that extra zing;

- Gringa Special, which was rotiserie pork shreds served atop a trio of tortillas but, again, seemed to lack flavors The garnishes - e.g. tomatoes, onions, cilantro, lime lacked freshness or quality.

- Pollo quesadilla - came across as plain-tasting.

One major gripe: my Margarita on the rocks was so full of ice, it took too small sips to empty my glass!

Can really use some recommendations from UK-based Chowhounds on where to find good Mexican, please!

    Casa Morita in Brixton Market; second choice would the Buen Provecho cart/stall in Lower Marsh market or sometimes at the Southbank Real Foods Market.
