Mom is in town Friday night!

my mom will be in town visiting this Friday night from New England... Would like to plan dinner for herself, me, and her very foodie friend. Any sugegstions for spots either downtown financial district OR by the Lincoln tunnel? All eaters are adventurous, looking for delicious fare. Price at around about $30-40 pp would be best.

For markers, favorite restaurants of Mom's in NYC include Perilla and Tao (very different, I know!)

No Indian or Italian please!

I suppose Hell's Kitchen is a better description...

Her friend will have driven into the city from NJ. Lincoln tunnel is the easiest way back home :)

    2. Closer to the Lincoln Tunnel, why not take them for Ethiopian food at Queen of Sheba? This is definitely out of the ordinary and the tibs wot is excellent.

      1. If you're willing to make a stop on the way to Lincoln Tunnel from the financial district, you could try Kin Shop which is owned by Harold Dieterle of Perilla.

Another possible stop on the way to Lincoln Tunnel would be La Promenade des Anglais. I haven't been there yet but the New York Times just gave it two stars,
