I am coming to Southampton in June with several girlfriends. We are renting a house and would like to hire a private chef and/or mixologist for an evening of fun cocktails and possibly gourmet appetizers. If you have any names or ideas to share we would greatly appreciate it!

Definitely not Bill. I used google and came up with this old NYT article: http://www.nytimes.com/2006/05/31/din...
I know his Really Cool Foods store closed. He is definitely a local Hamptons guy. Give the Maidstone Arms a call for a contact #. He used to manage the restaurant.

You know, there are countless high end caterers out there, that's what they do, and if you want a bartender they will bring one along. The "mixologists" are usually moonlighting from their regular bartending job. These caterers are set up to go to people's houses and do so all summer long, at a set price. There is usually one chef in charge of the whole shebang. If you want, and can wait a day or two, I will get detailed info on some that I know of personally.

Ha ha, that's what I'm trying to avoid....to some extent! I know some chefs who'd do it for free.

Of course they are cute!! Would they let them pass the "Velvet Rope" @ the Shinnecock Canal if they were not cute?

God I love the Hamptons in the summer, glad I don't live there though.

I usually go in the kitchen door......my favorite way to enter! Gee I miss CPI and the good old days though. Their kitchen was like a dungeon! Oops back to where to find a chef......
