Eataly: did I miss a post-Christmas sale?

I bagged three pannetone for the price of one last year. Was there a post-holiday sale this year? I saw no mention when I checked the website just now. Even if it's over I'm curious to know if there was a year-end sale. Was there?

  1. As far as I can tell the closest to a year-end sale will be coming up next week, when they will have some items on sale. But the sale doesn't seem to be at all on the level of the sale last year; it's more like odds and ends going for a few bucks (mustard, sodas, etc.). Curiously, when I visited yesterday they had lots of varieties of panettone stocked. They were all full price, including the type that got marked down to 3-for-1 about this time last year.

i scored some Urbani Red Pesto and Black Truffle last year for $2.99 i/o $9.99. Bought two cans. Wish I bought more. That stuff is good!

    2. So far they're leaving the Pannetone full price. Last year they marked them down immediately, and were offering samples, with some of the larger sizes sold 2 for 1. Then they marked them all 2 for 1....and eventually they closed them out at the deal you got, 3 for 1. I guess they figured out a lot of us were waiting.

Glad I still have that extra box of panettone around that I had the foresight to buy at TJ's pre-Christmas. Perhaps it's not on par with Eataly but I think it's plenty tasty, and plenty cheaper. I'm prepared to hold out for a potential markdown before I buy any more panettone!
