Where to host a party for 70-90 ppl in North Jersey on a budget

I'm trying to plan my parents 25th Anniversary surprise party. For someone my age (23) I have a great paying job(55k) but obviouslly don't have the money to go bananas on a party on which I would except at least 75 people to attend.

I am just starting my searches as their 25th is in October, although I would like to have the event in September.

Does anyone have any suggestions on a place/way in the Essex/Union/Morris/Passaic County Area to accomplish this fairly inexpensively? I would like a place where the guests could dance.

How much do places typically cost? I want to be a little classier than a VFW hall.
How much should I expect the food to cost? Do places allow outside caterers?

Which places and/or caterers do you recommend?

What should I budget for alcohol and a DJ?

Are there any other aspects to party planning I am missing?

Thank you all in advance!

If you're willing to try Hudson County, Bayonne has some less expensive but nice places. The Chandelier wasn't expensive for a buffet, and the room is very nice.

A caterer at a VFW hall is not always less expensive. You'll have to rent all the dishes, table clothes, bring in the liquor, rent wine glasses...it adds up. A brunch at a restaurant would keep your costs lower. If the guests have to buy their own drinks that will save you some money. I wonder if Hamilton and Ward in Paterson might do the trick, or the Brownstone.
