The Cellar Door in Ridgefield, CT

Hi. I can't believe I've never actually posted in here given how often I've read everyone else's reviews ect.! Sorry about that. I promise to participate more in discussions from now on!

Wondering if anyone has tried The Cellar Door in Ridgefield, yet? Was thinking of trying somewhere new on Friday night for my birthday dinner. Thanks!

Better off going to Tre or Bartolo (where cello used to be). Sagi is good too.

I've been to Cellar Door twice already. They are still working with a limited/soft menu, but there is plenty to choose from. We tried their pizzas, which my husband and I both thought were better than most other pizzas in Ridgefield but definitely not NY quality (too sweet, mozzerella wasn't fresh). We also tried the salmon, which was also a little on the sweet side.

The artichoke dip and crostini app was huge and very rich but the salads are fresh and nicely sized for sharing. I tried the lobster ravioli on our second visit and, although the sauce was on the heavy side, it was balanced nicely with fresh cherry tomatoes and asparagus.

Overall, the waitstaff is very attentive and courteous and it's obvious that the entire crew wants this place to succeed. It's worth a visit, although I would choose Cello for my birthday dinner.

Thank you! Shockingly got a res. at Schoolhouse. So off to Wilton we go. Is Cello the old Plate? Last time we went to try it there was no one there and I hate an empty dinning room so we didn't even bother. I guess it's worth another try? Thanks again. Will have to try Cellar on a random night out.

Yes, Cello is Plate. We've only been there once but felt that it has much more potential than any other place we've tried in Ridgefield so far. The chef trained at both Aquavit and Babbo, and it shows in some of his dishes as well as the wine list. It was a full house on the night we went (all seven tables!).

I'm new here, and I'm sure there are some good restaurants but I'm desperately missing the quality and creativeness of NYC. I've been wanting to try Schoolhouse, would love to hear your review of it.

We've lived here for almost 4 years now and I hate to break it to you, but I still think about the food in city almost daily!! Will review Schoolhouse this weekend..Thanks!

This is actually causing me quite a bit of heartbreak right now, but thanks for being straight up about it. With so many New Yorkers moving out here, I'm still going to hold out hope that eventually the tide will turn.
