Berkeley: Paisan - Delicious donut holes

  • 2

Paisan offers a limited breakfast menu from 8 am - 11 am. On the counter are baked goods from Artisan Foods which is owned by this restaurant group.

I usually like the Artisan baked goods. I love these donut holes.

They have a crisp exterior like a buttermilk bar with a dense cake interior. There is a little fat in the crust but they are not greasy. it makes them tasty with a great texture. there is plain, cinnamon and powedered. I liked the powdered leats because it didn't work with the fat, IMO. However, I still have the endless flu so my tastes could be off. Loved the cinnamon sugar and plain.

Three donut holes for $1.50

They serve Three Africans Blue Bottle coffee.

There is a nice breakfast strada with lots of fresh veggies and a drizzle of pesto.

Other breakfast pastries and steel cut oatmeal is also available.

They had a breakfast sandwich ... but no more. That is too bad because the photo on the website makes it look like the Model Bakery breakfast sandwich.

Great place if you want to work on your pc. Lots of room to spread out and a few electrical outlets. Much more pleasant than trying to squeeze in with the hipster herd at local 123.

  1. Note that the K2 group's Artisan Foods is not to be confused with Artisan Bakers of Sonoma.
