Dough Hooks - Kitchen Aid, Cuisinart, Viking....Ninja

I need a food processor with a dough hook. My favorite thing is to bake bread. I discovered the Richard Bertinet 'slap and fold' method of kneading, but I like to start the kneading process with a machine.

I could also use the food processor for other things. I don't need a stand mixer. A good hand mixer will do. So I'm looking at food processors with dough hooks.

In reading ALL the old posts, I see that everyone has issues with the new Kitchen Aids and Cuisinarts. Ditto for Viking. Magimix is just too expensive for me.

I discovered this thing called Ninja while googling around. Walmart (sorry) has a good deal on the 1100 which has a dough hook.

Anyone have experience with this? I don't expect that it's as good as the Kitchen Aid you got for your wedding 35 years ago. Those days are long gone. But if it works for a couple of years, and chops as well, I'll be happy.

(Please - no lectures about kneading dough totally by hand. Thanks in advance.)

That's an inscrutable rune. What does it mean?

" Magimix is just too expensive for me"

it would have been for me too, since I have an unopened 14 cup Cuisinart in the closet for future use, Christmas present from hubby a couple years ago. Couldn't take it back, love love love Cuisinarts.

my magimix was at/from a charity shop and literally the minute the clerk was putting it on the shelf, I was removing it to my shopping cart. it has more attachments than I know what to do with but man it's neat.

to let you know on that electronic massive web site where everyone buys mostly used items, is a 8 cup Cuisinart with the bid of $29.00 it has 2 hours left, I thought to bid on it myself although I detest that web site, but just letting you know. Cuisinarts do good things to dough.

I have no idea what website you are talking about - is it against Chowhound policy to put the site (vending, etc., litigation, etc.) If not, please tell!!!!!!

PS re "love love love Cuisinarts" - do you just mean food processors? I have had a weird experience with a Cuisinart product. Perhaps I should start a thread on it.
