Lively but moderate spot in Midtown pre-Lenny Kravitz concert?

A friend is going to this concert at Radio City on a Saturday and she is looking for somewhere fun for dinner and cocktails. I am at a loss to help her as I am caught between Irish pubs and restaurants that are too fancy. Does anyone have a middle of the road yet fun idea? It is two gals going, so it can be more appetizer or bar-dining focused. When I say moderate, the price is not really important, it is more the tenor of the place being more fun than stodgy. Thank you in advance!

      Nailed it. :)

Though I personally prefer The Modern Bar Room because the tables are decently apart. I've always found Ma Peche a bit awkward in that you're literally seated a few inches from your neighbors.

Both restaurants are lively, with great food.

Thank you both for the great ideas.
