Xinjiang style lamb noodle soup in Vancouver?
I used to really love the Xinjiang lamb noodle soup at Bowl of Stars on Kingsway. Sadly they closed, and I haven't been able to locate another place that offers a good version of a similar dish.
The complex rich broth had overtones of cumin and chili which gave a nicely layered flavour. It wasn't over the top spicy, but the heat built nicely over time. It was filled with tons of goodies including lamb marinated in cumin and chili which was quickly stir-fried to caramelize it before being added to the soup, nice fresh yuba, goji berries, tofu puffs, cabbage, and nicely cooked rice noodles.
Anybody seen anything similar around town?
