Traveling to seattle in march. Love wine, esp reds...pinots, syrah, cabs. We have spent a lot of time in wine country in california and oregon but never wa like walla walla and yakima. First, are these the best areas for great wine? Looking for some cult wines that are high end with great tasting rooms. What are considered the best and which do you all like the best? Would also love a local favorite for dinner. Thank you.

will orient you to the regions and events in Washington. There is also a collection of wineries in the Seattle suburbs, most notably Woodenville. They don't grow the grapes there, but weather in March might be nicer (if a bit rainy) than the growing regions on the east side of the Cascades.

    1. I would high recommend that you visit Walla Walla. Several of our favorite winiers that make outstanding syrah's are Charles Smith Wines, Syzygy, Reninger and Seven Hills. There are many more that we have not tried but see excellent scores in the Spectator for WW wines. If you are lucky enough to find a bottle of Cayuse at a wine store be sure and enjoy. Girason Inn is a nice place to stay. They only have 3 rooms so will need to make reservations ahead of time.

      1. I recommend Carpenter Creek (http://www.carpentercreek.com/), especially for their blends.
Also Try Challenger Ridge (http://www.challengerridge.com/), we found their pinot superior.
