Frozen Custard in Nashville area.....

When I Google everything that comes up has closed....anything new out there? I am from New Orleans but visit Nashville often and we lost our only custard stand post-Katrinia. Thanks!

There is a place on Thompson Lane at Mill Creek--1/2 mile west of Murfreesboro Road. It used to be called Dairy King, and is very popular for frozen confections and food. It's right past Wimpole Drive (on the right) and Currey Road (on the left.)

That location was flooded out a few years back. They've moved to a new location on Thompson closer to Murfreesboro next to the car wash and across the street from the Dollar General.

Rita's is also a popular favorite serving frozen custard and flavored ice combinations, however they are seasonal, and open in spring and carry on through fall, at which point they close for the cold months.

I've never seen frozen custard per se in Nashville. Doesn't mean it's not here, but have never seen it. For some good frozen treats, though, check out Pied Piper Creamery, Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams (a Cincinnati import), Hot & Cold, Las Paletas, Bravo Gelato, Porta Via (gelato). Also more than a few frozen yogurt places -- Sweet Ce Ce's is local, also have Pinkberry and some other chains.
