Triangle Restaurant Week: January 23-29

This may be interesting.

A week-long celebration of culinary excellence, Triangle Restaurant Week (January 23-29) is designed to incorporate the entire premier Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill and surrounding area Restaurants. Featuring over 75 triangle eateries, local residents and visitors alike are invited to participate in the culinary extravaganza! Restaurants will be offering a special fixed price, 3-course meal (lunch and/or dinner) each and every day they are open during the event.

This has happened at least the last 3 years. It is not as interesting as one would think as you are limited to what you can have on the menus.

Pluses - price is nice and more restaurants are joining, you can try a new restaurant out.

Cons - you can usually order what you want off the menu and come out near or better than what the restaurant week price is offering, restaurant week menus can lack creativity.

another con: restaurants tend to be a lot busier.

Yet another con: the website is a real pain to use.

I hadn't even checked it yet, although I suppose I should just to know where to steer away from that week.
