Recs Requested for 70th bday party

Hello and thanks in advance for any help you can provide. I'm planning my Mom's 70th bday party in SF and am looking for reqs for places that have either a private room or are ok to bring 2 kids ages 10 & 11. Here are some of the particulars:

1. 10 people total
2. Cuisine is pretty open - Italian, French, American - we like it all. My wife is a vegetarian but most places we go can easily accomodate that. I'd like something a bit upscale.
3. Cost is pretty flexible as well.

The kids are very well behaved but I'm not going to take them to a fine dining tasting menu type spot - it would be lost on them.

I guess what I'm asking is - if you were taking your Mom and immediate family out for a milestone birthday, where would you go?

A16 or Kokkari - very good Italian & Greek but especially since you have a vegetarian.
