I should have specified dinner. I'm looking for late meals after theater / concerts, not a snack or a bar.

Pretty sure Fonda kitchen closes @ midnight (they're open til 12:30 am)

Fonda's Web site says dinner until 12:30.

I think both A Cote and Mua have shorter hours mid-week.
Luca's has a limited bar menu till midnight
And I think Tuk Tuk on Shattuck is open till 1am. Anyone been there lately?

The hours I posted above are for Fridays and Saturdays. Most of those places close earlier on other nights.
I've given up on Luka's. The last half-dozen times I tried to go, either the music was so loud I couldn't be in the room or there was too long a wait.

oh of course. my bad. now i see you specified Fri/Sat.
yeah. Luka's is crazy late on weekend nites.

I've never tried Luka's late on a weekend. It seems to be crazy all the time.

actually, i've recently gone to Lukas several times mid-week around 10:30 -11pm and found it lovely. a nice "quorum" of people, a nice way to end the day and chat with a friend.

Maybe with all the new options nearby it has calmed down, I'll give it another shot. I've always liked the food there.

Is the kitchen open that late? Their Web site doesn't say.

sorry, don't know. at happy hour, had the arugula/percorino which came in a jar and not nothing on the plate was heated. haven't tried the sandwiches or anything else. since it's across the street from the Fox Theatre, maybe the kitchen hours are it least in tune to the times when the crowd lets out after the show.
There's also the Giant Burger drive-in on Telegraph near West Grand with quite a scene with classic cars filling the parking lot, at least on First Fridays. They are probably open late.

What's good there, or are you just saying it exists?

Phil's Sliders in Berkeley (near Shattuck & Center) is open until midnight Thurs-Sat

Revival is open till midnight those days. Went for after-theater desserts recently. I'm not big on sweets, but the others had the sticky-toffee pudding, the quince sorbet, and the flourless chocolate cake with quince something -- poached quince? -- and they were all happy.

Revival's dinner seating officially ends at 10:30. They could probably squeeze in later arrivals until the kitchen closes, but I don't like to be rushed, and I hate being the one to keep kitchen or wait staff from going home.

The kitchen at Honor Bar in Emeryville is open until midnight Tue-Thr and 1:00 Fri and Sat. I made it there last week. The fried chicken and the cocktails were tasty.

Shooting Star cafe @ 1068 Webster in Oakland Chinatown is open from 7AM-2AM everyday. They have a savory Cha Chaan Teng menu and a separate dessert menu (slushies, smoothies, milk tea, crepes, waffles, etc.
I've gone in for their ice cream a few times, and I learned tonight that it's from Polly Ann's in the Outer Sunset. They currently have pineapple coconut, black sesame, red bean, lychee and a few others.
