Pearl onion sightings?

I see these all over before the holidays and especially Thanksgiving. Has anyone seen any in the last week ?

I don't know your location but yesterday I saw 10 oz pkg at 22nd/Irving (SF) mkt for $2.99.

I like the tiny ones that WF had; I was going to make some for Christmas but they were only 8 oz pdg and were $3.99 each so the dish would have cost $16 (not counting the butter & cream) so I passed.

In a pinch you can get them at a mainstream supermarket like Lucky's or Safeway but frozen. Usually a big brand like Birdseye or S&W.

Trader Joes has cleaned,fresh,ready to cooked ones that are a convienent,nice size for say a pot pie,creamed or in soup,etc.The whole fresh ones in peels I've seen all over the Bay Area in various stores in the onion section.

Thanks, but TJ does not have pearl onions now. I asked in the produce department, and they only carry them for the holidays. I finally found them at Safeway last night, not sure if they stock them all year but at least they are available right now.

Not sure where you're located, but the Oakmont Produce store at the corner of Central AVENUE and Moffett Blvd (in Mountain View) had them yesterday.

I have always found pearl onions when I've shopped at Trader Joe's. White and red onions in net bags, though they are pretty tiny. Might be worth a look if you have one handy.
