Brooklyn venue for 50-60 person Friday night dinner?

Hoping to find a creative thinker out there to go beyond the usual Frankies (booked) or Ici (which is a maybe, but not drawn to it for some reason) for a very large group in Brooklyn on a Friday night in June. Anywhere within a reasonable radius of Carroll Gardens/Cobble Hill would work, open to all types of food, and doesn't have to be too fancy but would like something presentable. All ideas welcome! Thanks!

Colonie is wonderful (and gorgeous) and seats about that many. Rucola might be a bit too small but it's lovely and quaint. Either of those spots you'd have to buy out the whole restaurant. Local 61 is a very cool space that can fit that many people, but it's mostly meats and cheeses, that's more of a party than dinner. This one's a little out of the neighborhood you mentioned, but what about Palo Santo in Park Slope? Very fun spot with reasonable prices too. Best of luck, let us know where you land!

Thanks for the above ideas - nothing quite right for us, but all good thoughts - fyi for anyone else who sees this and is in a similar situation, Chestnut said their building is being sold so they can't commit to dates past March, I believe. (My event will be in June.) We're still looking, so, any more ideas are welcome! Open, at this point, to Brooklyn generally....

Bubby's in DUMBO was suggested on the other thread, I have no experience with it. Also check out Watty and Meg ( - food there is excellent.

Palo Santo, if they will do it, would be a wonderful destination and also has a little (very little - like 2 tables) back garden.

      2. Just thinking out of the box: Junior's!! They have a semi private area in the "new" section.
Back in the day, before the big fire, Junior's had an "event" room downstairs.
