Piriapolis or Punta Uruguay recs?

We are in Piriapolis, Uruguay for most of January and would love suggestions of good places to eat here or in Punta del Este. We are transplanted San Franciscans who have been living in Buenos Aires for six months so anything beyond the standard Italian food and parilla (although we enjoy a great steak from time to time) would be especially appreciated.
